Hi, friends: This season I’ve been preparing for the release of my forthcoming album, “Momentum”, guest lecturing in the United States, and performing with a variety of groups in Toronto including a special concert with the Order of Canada big band at Koerner Hall. I’m also thrilled to be back at the Old Mill Inn this November, with a special trio concert on November 27.
Pan-Am Games 2015
In July, Toronto plays host to the Pan-Am Games. I’m very excited to be playing at a number of events during the Games, including two special events with Danilo Perez.

New Singles Released / "Fargo"
Surprise!!! It’s my pleasure to announce the release of “The Pretty One” and “Coolin’ Out”, two singles composed and featured in the FX TV series “Fargo”. Written and recorded in the span of 48 hours, these songs are featured in episodes 102 and 104 respectively as background music for Lou’s cafe. The cast of the show includes Billy Bob Thornton, Martin Freeman, Bob Odenkirk, Keith Carradine and Oliver Platt.

Free Concert This Week!
I'm thrilled to report the Shirantha Beddage Quartet will be giving a FREE concert this week in Toronto! Join us Wednesday November 20th @ 5:30pm at the Canadian Opera Company as we perform songs from "Identity", and some other surprises.
Galaxie Rising Star Award
I’m excited to report that on Friday, July 5, 2013 I won the Galaxie Rising Star Award at the Montreal Jazz Festival! This prize was based on a performance at the Festival by my quartet, which included Dave Restivo, Mark Kelso and Mike Downes.
Summer Festivals and Recordings
Summer festival season is here, and my quartet will be performing at the Toronto Downtown Jazz Festival (June 22) and the world-renowned Montreal Jazz Festival (July 2).
Juno Nomination for "Identity"
I'm thrilled to announce that Identity has been nominated for Traditional Jazz Album of the Year at the 2013 Juno Awards!! I'm shocked, amazed and thrilled by the announcement. Thanks to all the fine folks involved in making this album a reality.

Winter / Spring News
It's been a busy holiday season, and I'm excited for upcoming events in February, March and April. Look for me with Christian Overton, Nancy Walker and Mike Downes' "In the Current" ensemble (plus a CD recording with Mike's group). Also, I'll be at the Homesmith Bar (Toronto) with my trio in April, and I'll be debuting some compositions on piano and baritone saxophone.
CD Release Concert November 1
I'm thrilled to announce that my new CD "Identity" will be available for purchase in November of 2012. The official Toronto CD release concert will take place on Thursday, November 1st at Gallery 345, and will feature my quartet with Dave Restivo (piano), Mark Kelso (drums) and Mike Downes (bass).

I have three exciting performances coming up in May! On May 9th, I'll be performing with Mike Downes' "In the Current" ensemble at Gallery 345 (Toronto). He's written some fantastic new music for this occasion, and the ensemble is stellar! Plus, I'll be playing many, many, many instruments. (I may need a roadie for the gig... any takers?)
